Instead of going around in circles, first to the surgery to order your medication and then back again to pick up your repeat prescription and then to the pharmacy and waiting whilst we make up your medicines, why not let us make it easier for you.
Repeat prescriptions offer many benefits, such as convenience and timely access to necessary medications for chronic conditions.

How it works
- 1
Order through your GP surgery
There are three ways: using your NHS account, using other online services or apps, or contacting the surgery.
- 2
Or ask us, where repeat dispensing is set up
If a GP has set up repeat dispensing, you may be able to ask the pharmacy directly for your medication instead of going through the surgery.
- 3
Collect from whichever branch suits you
We make up your medicines ready for collection at the branch you choose.
- 4
Check the bag before you leave
If there are any medications you do not need, you can return them to the pharmacy.
Good to know
What a repeat prescription is
If you take medicine regularly, you'll usually have a repeat prescription. This means you can order your medicine when you need it, without having to see a GP every time.
Electronic repeat prescriptions (eRD)
eRD allows a prescriber to authorize a batch of repeatable prescriptions for up to 12 months. The prescriptions are automatically downloaded to the patient's pharmacy at set intervals.
Emergency repeat medications
In clinically exceptional circumstances, NHS 111 may supply emergency repeat medications outside of hours.
