Pharmacy First
Pharmacy First is a new NHS service that allows patients to receive treatment for several common conditions directly from a community pharmacy, without needing a GP appointment. Specially trained pharmacists can assess symptoms, provide clinical advice, and supply prescription only medicines where appropriate. Pharmacy First gives patients faster access to treatment, reduces pressure on GP surgeries, and makes it easier for people to get help for everyday health concerns close to home.
The service covers seven common conditions:
• Sinusitis
• Sore throat
• Earache (Acute Otitis Media)
• Infected insect bites
• Impetigo
• Shingles
• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (women aged 16–64)
Patients can walk in, contact the pharmacy directly, or be referred by NHS 111 or their GP practice. All consultations take place in a private room.

Delmergate Ltd began trading in 1986 and has proudly served communities across Kent for four decades. Our pharmacies are located in Sevenoaks, Ashford, and Chatham, where we continue to provide high‑quality, accessible healthcare to our patients.
Our People and Standards
All Delmergate staff are trained to meet the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain’s professional standards, holding NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in pharmacy services. Our teams participate in continuing professional development throughout the year, ensuring their knowledge and skills remain current and aligned with national expectations.

We work closely with our local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to ensure our pharmacies deliver the services needed by the communities we serve. This collaboration helps us continually adapt to changing healthcare demands and maintain high‑quality patient care.

Pharmacies have recently been enabled to offer a wider range of clinical services, giving patients greater choice and improved access to healthcare close to home. Depending on the location, our pharmacies can provide:

- Travel Vaccinations
- A full range of Private (non‑NHS) services
Prescription Services
All Delmergate pharmacies dispense both NHS and Private prescriptions. We also provide the NHS New Medicine Service (NMS). As part of this service, one of our pharmacists will contact you after you start a new medication to ensure you are getting the best from your treatment, to discuss how you are getting on, and to answer any questions you may have.
NHS Flu & Covid Vaccinations
All our pharmacies run the seasonal Flu & Covid vaccination services, bookings can be made via the NHS Booking System, however we do provide a walk-in clinic for those who prefer to not use online booking applications, the walk in clinics usually start a couple of weeks after the vaccination period had started - contact your local branch for more details.
Private (non NHS) Service
Delmergate Ltd provides a wide range of private pharmacy services. This allows our pharmacists to assess, treat, and supply prescription only medicines safely and conveniently, without the need for a GP appointment.
These services allow pharmacists to support patients with conditions that often require timely intervention.
Together, Pharmacy First + Private Services give you access to a comprehensive pharmacy based clinical service from our pharmacies
Private Services
They give you quick access to healthcare without needing to see your GP. These services cover a wide range of conditions such as skin problems, women’s health, men’s health, travel health, weight management, and more. Fees apply because these services are not funded by the NHS.
